How to Win

  1. Log on to Shell National Students Arts Competition website and download the entry form
  2. Theme: SPARK for the FUTURE
  3. Four (4) Categories
    • Oil/Acrylic
      • Minimum of at least 2×3 feet and a maximum of 3×3 feet including the box frame
      • Only rectangular and square canvass will be accepted
      • Entries should be ready to display (Properly stretched with a box frame or in wrap-around stretcher)
    • Watercolor
      • Must use Arches Papers and Winsor & Newton or Lefranc & Bourgeois colors
      • Paper size must be 14×20 inches and not more than 22×30 inches including the frame
      • Entries should be properly framed and ready for display
    • Sculpture
      • Freestanding
      • Height must be at least 1 foot but not more than 1.5×1.5  feet including base
      • Base (optional) must be at least 1 inch but not more than 2 inches in height and not more than 1.5 feet on all sides
      • Entries may be made of wood, properly fired clay, stone, metal or other durable material, or a combination
    • Multi-media
      • Digital Art (Print)
        • Must be in CD-ROM format with letter-sized print in photo or ink-jet paper
        • CD-ROM must contain “native” or original working files used in composing the entry which includes PSD files that must not be flattened, fonts and raw materials (scanned image sources)
        • Resolution must be 300 dpi 
        • You may use scanned imagery and digital painting techniques via available graphics software
        • You may only use your own photos unless otherwise you have proof/receipt of your purchase from an image bank or from the owner 
      • Digital Short Film
        • Should interpret current theme
        • Length should be at least 3 minutes, including opening titles and closing credits
        • Can be filmed in the style (animation, live action, music video, experimental, etc) and genre (documentary, drama, comedy, action, etc) of your choice
        • You must submit 2  DVDs:
          • DVD 1 – Must contain a DVD playable format
          • DVD 2 – Must contain a DATA file of the video rendered master in 16:9 format
        • Entries must be original
  4. Submission Guidelines
    • Your name must not appear on the face of the entry 
    • One (1) entry form per artwork
    • Entry form Section A must be submitted at the authorized NSAC receiving center or Shell office duly signed by you, your parent/guardian and the certifying professor
    • Entry form Section B must be attached on the back of the artwork for proper identification duly signed by you, your parent/guardian and the certifying professor
    • You will be given an acknowledgement receipt signed by the receiving officer with the corresponding entry number
    • Provincial entries must be submitted to any of the ff:
      • Shell depots and installations outside Metro Manila
      • Gallery Orange, 2/F, Annex Bldg., Lopue’s Mandalagan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
      • Anthill Fabric Gallery, Pedro Calomarde corner Acacia Sts., Gorordo Ave., Lahug, Cebu City 
      • Museo Iloilo, Bonifacio Drive, Iloilo CIty
    • Metro Manila entries must be submitted to:
      • Ground floor, Shell House, 156 Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati City
  5. You may submit a maximum of two (2) entries only across all categories
  6. The price indicated on the entry form will be considered as final
  7. Proceeds of painting sold during the exhibition will be turned over to you after the exhibition
  8. All entries will undergo preliminary screening before final judging. The decision of judges will be final
